    7.  The Tale of Donn-Bo Children’s Book

The Tale of Donn-Bo is a children’s book illustration project done in Ed Fotheringham’s class at Cornish College of the Arts. All sketching, concept art, pagination, and final spreads were completed over the course of one semester.

This children’s book is made using an old manuscript from the Irish fairy tale about Donn-Bo, the story recounts how Donn-Bo was the greatest bard in Ireland who died in battle. Despite losing his head, Donn-Bo continues to sing and fulfils a promise to sing songs to Ireland’s warriors. The illustrations modify the context of the manuscript by portraying the story as something played out by a group of children in an American school yard.
